Aqua Gel Activator is the piece of the NuFACE routine that is easy to overlook and impossible to skip.
Microcurrent cannot travel through dry skin. A water-based conductive layer is what allows the current to pass from the device down to the facial muscles, which is why every NuFACE treatment starts with an activator. Using a device without one is the single most common reason people conclude microcurrent does not work for them.
This formula is built for that job. IonPlex Technology, NuFACE's proprietary blend of glacial water, electrolytes, and minerals including magnesium, zinc, and copper, is what boosts conductivity. Around it sits a genuinely good hydrating base: hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid to plump and hold moisture, and glycerin to draw water into the skin.
The texture is silky and light rather than tacky, and because it is a real hydrator, it works as a leave-on gel mask on days you are not doing a treatment. Apply generously, glide, and massage in whatever is left.

FULL INGREDIENT LIST
- Apply a generous, mask-like layer of Aqua Gel Activator to clean, dry skin, working one section at a time.
- Use your NuFACE microcurrent device to perform glides and holds over the gel.
- Reapply as needed so the layer stays wet throughout the treatment. If it dries out, the current will not conduct.
- After the treatment, massage any remaining gel into the skin.
Use morning and evening, daily.
Apply extra to dry areas, or use on its own as a leave-on hydrating mask for a dewy finish, even on days you are not doing a microcurrent treatment.
