I started using this by recommendation from an aesthetician. For years I've had acne (currently I'm 34). I started using Proactiv when I was 22. Proactiv helped, until I hit my 30s. Around this time, I started getting cystic acne. Large, deep, painful acne that would never come to the surface, and would linger for a week or more. Things worsened after the birth of my first child. Hormones would cause a worsening, but my skin was never clear, and always super oily. I'd wash my face at 8am and by 2 it was so oily I'd want to wash it again (but the more washing, the more oily it felt in the next day!) I was then recommended to try Rodan and Fields Unblemish regime. My skin got better with the 4 steps, for about a month. My skin never really cleared up, still experienced the cysts and monthly breakouts. Even a trip to a dermatologist yielded an antibiotic lotion, and that my skin wasn't "that bad". So this September, I saw an aesthetician and explained everything I had been through, tried, hated about my skin. She recommended I try this face wash in combination with the the clearskin lotion and prescribed antibiotic lotion. After 2 weeks, my skin began to clear. I only got 1-2 deep acne cysts, and various pimples. A month later, even during my cycle, I didn't get any! Month later, the oil production is 1/2 what it was, my skin is softer, clear and when I use this wash, my skin always feels "squeaky clean"! If you're thinking you have acne, consider going to less intrusive route. Like in my case, you could think you have acne, try to treat it, and inadvertently make things worse. Less is more!! This wash does just that!
