FAQ's

What should we expect from a good facial cleanser?
The most important function of a good facial cleanser is to remove dirt, oil, dead skin cells, makeup and pollutants – but without stripping the skin of its essential, natural oils. These actually protect the skin and keep it from becoming dehydrated. After cleansing, skin should feel refreshed and clean, but not dry, flaky or tight. For those with sensitive or drier skins, avoid cleansers containing ingredients like alcohol, parabens, synthetic fragrances, and sulfates. -
Do facial cleansers expire?
Most facial cleansers will have an expiration date typically around 1-2 years from the date they are manufactured, but it really depends on the ingredients. Generally speaking, if the cleanser contains more actives like Vitamin C or Glycolic Acid, it will have a shorter lifespan. If you’re not sure when your cleanser expires, a good rule of thumb is one year after opening. -
Are oil cleansers good for oily skin?
Oil cleansers actually work very well for all skin types, including oily skin! For oilier skin types, it’s recommended to use oil cleansers that dissolve into a milk or gentle lather after upon contact with water. Many oils can be beneficial for all skin types, but we recommend non-comedogenic oils like grapeseed, sweet almond, and jojoba oil (not coconut oil or mineral oil). Oil based cleansers can make excellent makeup removers, and are often used as the first step in a double cleanse.
