My Honest Review of Epicutis Lipid Serum

Epicutis Lipid Serum is a $250 serum made for dry, sensitive, red, and stressed skin. Since it only contains eight ingredients, I wanted to see if such a simple formula could actually make a noticeable difference.

After using it consistently, here is my honest opinion.

Why I Tried It

My skin was feeling dry, tight, and more sensitive than usual. Some products would sting when I applied them, and my skin often looked slightly red.

I wanted something simple that could hydrate and calm my skin without adding more strong active ingredients to my routine. Epicutis Lipid Serum stood out because it is fragrance-free and specifically designed to support stressed or compromised skin.

Texture and First Impression

The serum has a smooth, silky texture. It is thicker than a watery hyaluronic acid serum but still feels lightweight.

I used a pea-sized amount for my face. It spread easily and absorbed without leaving my skin greasy. There was no fragrance, and it did not sting or irritate my skin.

Immediately after applying it, my skin felt softer, more hydrated, and less tight.

My Results

After using the serum consistently, my skin felt calmer and more comfortable. The dry texture around my cheeks improved, and my skin did not feel as tight after cleansing.

I also noticed that my skin became less reactive. Products that had previously felt uncomfortable were easier to use once my skin barrier felt stronger.

The serum did not completely remove redness or transform my skin overnight. It also did not treat breakouts or pigmentation. However, it helped my skin stay hydrated, balanced, and less easily irritated.

The results were gradual but noticeable.

What Is TSC?

The main ingredient in Epicutis Lipid Serum is TSC, a patented ingredient developed by Epicutis.

TSC is a lipid-like molecule that helps support the skin barrier, retain hydration, and calm the appearance of inflammation and redness.

The serum also contains sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, propanediol, and pentylene glycol to attract moisture and keep the skin hydrated.

The complete formula contains only eight ingredients:

  • Water
  • Propanediol
  • Pentylene glycol
  • Glycerin
  • Sodium hyaluronate
  • TSC
  • Sodium phytate
  • Citric acid

What I Liked

  • It hydrated my skin immediately.
  • It did not sting or irritate my sensitive skin.
  • It helped reduce dryness and tightness.
  • My skin felt calmer with consistent use.
  • It was lightweight and easy to layer.
  • It did not contain fragrance.
  • A small amount covered my entire face.

What I Did Not Like

The price is the biggest downside. At $250, this is not a basic hydrating serum.

If your skin is already healthy and you only need extra moisture, you may not need such an expensive product. A simpler hyaluronic acid serum could be enough.

Epicutis Lipid Serum makes more sense for someone dealing with sensitive, visibly red, stressed, or post-procedure skin who needs additional barrier support.

How I Used It

I applied a pea-sized amount after cleansing, both morning and evening.

My routine was:

  1. Gentle cleanser
  2. Epicutis Lipid Serum
  3. Moisturizer
  4. Sunscreen in the morning

I kept the rest of my routine simple so I could see how my skin responded to the serum.

Is Epicutis Lipid Serum Worth It?

I think Epicutis Lipid Serum is worth considering if your skin is sensitive, dry, visibly red, or easily irritated.

It did not give me dramatic overnight results, but it made my skin feel noticeably more hydrated, comfortable, and less reactive. Its biggest benefit is helping stressed skin return to a calmer, more balanced condition.

If you only need basic hydration, there are more affordable options. But if your skin barrier needs serious support and you prefer a short, fragrance-free ingredient list, this serum offers more than a standard hyaluronic acid product.

Overall, I would recommend it for sensitive or compromised skin—especially when your regular skincare routine suddenly feels like too much.
